Artifact: Data Inventory
Reflection:
For this standard, I chose the data inventory as my artifact. This artifact was developed for ITEC 7305, Data Analysis and School Improvement. The data for this inventory was collected from the school improvement plan for one of the schools in our district that I support. The data inventory takes all of the assessment information, includes how the data is currently being used and gives suggestions for how this data could be more effectively used to assess student learning.
This artifact shows mastery of this 2.7 standard because the data inventory is an effective use of all types of assessments to measure student learning. I learned through this inventory that many assessments are completed during the course of the school year for students in math, language arts and writing, but not other subject areas. I think observation surveys or informal interviews would be good assessments to include in the data inventory in the future. School improvement and student learning will definintely be affected by a careful examination of the data inventory at any school. Assessment will be evaluated through the following year's quarterly district benchmarks, local assessment results, and writing samples.
