Artifact: Technology Planning Project
Reflection:
This artifact, Technology Planning Project, was the culminating project of my Instructional Technology Leadership, ITEC 7410. in the fall of 2010. This project included a shared vision and rationale for technology integration, a strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT) analysis, and a one year action and evaluation plan for one of my elementary schools that I support. This project completely supported mastery of this standard because it showed how I developed the vision and evaluated the current technology needs of the school.
After completing the SWOT analysis and the action plan, I understand all of the steps involved in creating a complete and thorough technology plan for my school. I think in the future I would want to include more faculty, parent representatives, student representatives and business and/or community leadership. Their collaboration would encompass future revisions of the school improvement plan to include the technology vision and action plan with National technology standards for students as the foundation. Student learning and professional development will definitely be impacted by the entire technology plan because it included a focus on skills for teachers to improve their instructional strategies and learning tools that will have a big impact on student learning. The results of this plan are being evaluated by the technology committee at the school as they revise their professional learning plan for next school year.
